An excursion to the amine scrubber, a joint pilot plant for CO₂ capture by K1-MET and voestalpine, was planned for the morning. Michael Derntl gave interesting insights into the amine scrubber and its contribution to sustainable steelmaking. This amine scrubber was installed as part of the C-CED project. The H2Future plant at the voestalpine site was also visited within the tour.

At the WIVA P&G annual event, Michael Derntl, Senior Expert, reported about the activities of CO₂ capture within the amine scrubber and gave an insight into the work of the Carbon Cycle Economy Demonstration project (C-CED). This project deals with the separation of CO₂ from real gases and its utilisation in the form of methanisation.

Michael Zarl, Senior Project Manager, gave a presentation on the future of green steel production and details on the current status, innovative approaches and progress of the SuS-F project.

Thomas Buergler, CEO, took part in the panel discussion about current challenges, concrete steps, objectives and visions at the WIVA P&G annual event.
