WIVA P&G at the 20th anniversary of the KinderUni OOE with a hydrogen model of K1-MET

As part of the 20th anniversary of the KinderUni Upper Austria, WIVA P&G employees presented the current state of hydrogen research to the youngest members of society.

Science transfer is an important lever to promote the acceptance of new technological advances. Thus, once again, some myths were dispelled and awareness of our climate was raised.

At the station of WIVA P&G, the hydrogen value chain model of K1-MET GmbH was used to illustrate the production, storage and use of hydrogen. As an end use, the model shows the showcase project SuSteel follow-up. SuSteel follow-up makes a significant contribution to the transition to sustainable iron and steel production by 2050 and subsequently to the achievement of Austrian and European climate targets. In the future, it will be possible to produce CO2-neutral steel in a single process step using green hydrogen and green electricity. The project is supported by the Climate and Energy Fund

In addition, sustainable urban planning was thought through together with the children using a game from the “SeriousGames4EnergyTransition” project. This project is sponsored by the city of Linz. In addition to the interaction with all the wonderful children, a highlight of the day was the visit of the Federal Minister Leonore Gewessler and the Climate State Councilor Stefan Kaineder to the WIVA P&G booth.

WIVA P&G and K1-MET congratulate Kinder Uni Upper Austria on its 20 years!
