Efficient use of scrap requires precise knowledge of its composition, as certain types of steel require a specific scrap quality. For this reason, “InSpecScrap” deals with the image analysis of steel scrap for process optimisation.

The project has a duration of 24 months and is funded by the Province Styria (Zukunftsfonds Steiermark) (Grant Agreement no. PN 1510).

The consortium consists of the following partners, starting with the project coordinator:

  • JOANNEUM RESEARCH Forschungsgesellschaft mbH
  • Graz University of Technology - Institute for Computer Graphics and Vision
  • Know-Center GmbH – Research Center for Data-Driven Business & Big Data Analytics
  • K1-MET GmbH
