K1-MET participated in the 3rd consortium meeting of the Horizon Europe Project PHOENIX HEU hosted by Leitat Technological Center in Terrassa, Barcelona, from 13 – 14 November 2025.

Nina Plankensteiner from K1-MET presented the progress of WP2 on “CO2 electrolysis” together with the University of Innsbruck and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin to the project partners. Key targets to reach the upcoming milestones and deliverables were set and common experiments defined. A special focus in the upcoming months will be the integration of the anode catalyst in the electrolyzer to enable a novel PET recycling pathway and to decrease the overall cell potential, thus energy consumption.

The meeting also included a visit to the laboratories of the Leitat headquarter and a discussion of potential collaboration possibilities.
