K1-MET at the HELIOS Network Event

Cameron Quick, Michael Zarl and Mohammad Jafarzadeh participated in the HELIOS network wide event in Hasselt, Belgium.

The 10 doctoral fellows took part in several activities relating to career and personal development, as well as team building activities. Progress towards their respective topics was then presented to each other and to the EU project officer, who was impressed and very pleased with the start and early progress of the HELIOS project.

Site visits at Heraeus-Electronite and to Aperam were also a highlight, where we saw the automated manufacturing of furnace and melt measurement sensors and the steel production in an electric arc furnace (EAF), respectively.
