K1-MET was represented by Thomas Buergler (CEO), Irmela Kofler (Area Management Decarbonisation & Sector Coupling) and Michael Derntl (Senior Expert).

Here is a brief summary of the success story presented by K1-MET as part of the Best Practices:
Sector Coupling as a solution approach for the utilisation of surplus energy from fluctuating generation with solar and wind by converting CO₂ into valuable materials: the inter-company networking of the energy sector and energy-intensive industry enables the storage of surplus energy in the form of hydrogen or renewable hydrocarbons and its transfer to consumption phases where the energy demand cannot be covered.

Thomas Buergler took part in the panel discussion at the closing plenary session “The future of the hydrogen economy in Upper Austria and the greater Linz area – strategies and prospects”.
