Under the theme “How decarbonisation, digitalisation and circular solutions forge the sustainable European steel future”, this year’s ESTEP Annual Event gathered experts from across Europe to discuss pathways towards a climate-neutral and competitive steel industry.

K1-MET was represented with two contributions:

• Poster presentation by Hadi Barati: “Nozzle clogging in steel continuous casting: multi-phase multi-physics simulations”
• Presentation by Thomas Buergler: “Update on Hy4Smelt – Hydrogen-based direct reduction and smelting of ultra-fine iron ores to green hot metal”
