Elizaveta Cheremisina, Wolfgang Reiter, Irmela Kofler and Michael Derntl held presentations on behalf of K1-MET at the ESTEP Annual Event 2023 – “A Circular Economy driven by the European Steel”.

The topics ranged from lithium-ion battery recycling, possibilities for residues from steel plants to Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) technologies in order to close the carbon cycle in the steel industry. News about proved projects such as FuLIBatteR and ReMFra as well as a brand-new CCU project were released.

The goal of this event was to bring together the steel community to discuss how to improve the circular economy in steel production. It was organized by the European Steel Technology Platform ESTEP.
