This year’s “ASMET-Forum fuer Metallurgie und Werkstofftechnik 2024” took place under the theme “GASES, GLUT, GREEN PROGRESS: The role of renewable gases in the future of the metal-producing industry”.

The programme included informative plenary presentations by industry experts, a panel discussion and presentations on application examples.

Michael Derntl, Team Lead, gave a presentation entitled “Zero Emissions throUgh Sector Coupling”.

His presentation focused on the national flagship project ZEUS (funded by the Klima- und Energiefonds). The aim is the development and cross-sectoral demonstration of a holistic, climate-neutral process chain – from the production and preparation of green hydrogen under fluctuating process conditions to the capture of CO₂ from industrial waste gases and conversion into valuable, storable products.
