At a recent visit to HTBLA Leonding, Magdalena Schatzl, Team Lead in Area 3 – Simulation & Data Analyses, shared insights into her educational and professional journey in a presentation titled „From HTL Leonding to Arc Plasma“.
Drawing from her own path from student to researcher, Magdalena demonstrated how simulation, modelling, and data-driven approaches are used to investigate complex metallurgical processes and support innovation in the steel industry. The presentation highlighted how engineering fundamentals, programming skills, physics, and mathematics come together to solve real-world challenges, from process optimization to the analysis of plasma phenomena.
For the students, the talk offered a glimpse into how digital technologies are transforming metallurgical research and how the skills they develop today can open exciting career opportunities in industry and applied research.
A big thank you to HTBLA Leonding for the invitation and to the students for their interest, curiosity, and engaging discussion.
