As part of her FFG-funded PhD project SPOT (Simulation based optimization of the energy performance of an integrated steel plant), Christa Muehlegger was given the opportunity by K1-MET to undertake a three-month outgoing research stay at Siemens Industry Software Limited.
During this period, she is collaborating on utilizing the gPROMS process simulation software to develop surrogate models for a carbon capture facility. These surrogate models can subsequently be integrated into the energy network models of an entire steel mill. This enables the analysis of the feasibility of the Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) unit.
All the best for your research work within your outgoing research stay from the entire K1-MET team!
