Intensive discussions were done about steel refining with special emphasis on dephosphorization in the Basic Oxygen Furnace, thermodynamic equilibrium modelling of the ladle furnace, experimental surveillance with accompanied CFD calculations of the Ruhrsthal-Heraeus degassing process as well as the measurement of properties from secondary metallurgical slags.
Further discussions about decarbonization were also part of the meeting.
