K1-MET congratulates former employee Valentin Wiesinger on winning 1st place at the Doerrenberg StudiesAWARD

Valentin Wiesinger (25), material science and production engineering student and former researcher in project 2.6, entered the Doerrenberg StudiesAWARD with his project thesis about the optimization of the energy-consumption of the electroslag remelting process. He presented and defended his work in front of a jury and in the end received the gold medal and a prize fund of € 3.000,00.

His thesis is entitled "Influence of process parameters on slag temperature and energy consumption in the ESU process" and was written under the supervision of Dr. Reinhold Schneider. (R&D Metallurgy and Hardening Technology at FH Wels).
