The “Iron and Steel Making” TGA1 Meeting 2026 took place at RINA CSM in Rome.

Thomas Buergler, Wolfgang Reiter and Lukas Schmidt presented the projects Hy4Smelt, Safe H-DRI and HBI C-Flex, which are running in the framework of the “Research Fund for Coal and Steel”. The focus of the presentations and the discussion with the TG experts and members of the REA of the European Commission was on project results, lessons learned, findings and industrial applications.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss project outcomes and further strengthen collaboration on innovative technologies for the future of iron and steelmaking.
