K1-MET participated in the ASMET Werkstoffworkshop 2026 of the ASMET, Austrian Society for Metallurgy and Materials, focusing on the topic of “AI in Materials Development and Production”.

The goal was to jointly identify new research and development priorities and to provide impetus for the next generation of data-driven materials and production technologies. The workshop took place at JOANNEUM RESEARCH Forschungsgesellschaft mbH in Graz and was a fantastic opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss research needs and future developments in materials with AI!

Christine Gruber presented a talk on “Hybrid AI and rule-based modeling: Interpretable, robust, and real-time capable hybrid process models for steel production”.
