UAR 2026 brought together research, industry and innovation stakeholders in Linz to showcase cutting-edge developments from the Upper Austrian research landscape.

As part of the session “Sustainable production processes & materials”, Irmela Kofler, Management of K1-MET Area 2 Decarbonisation & Sector Coupling, presented K1-MET’s research activities as well as selected research highlights addressing the transformation of the metallurgical industry towards greater sustainability, resource efficiency and competitiveness.

Visitors also had the opportunity to meet the K1-MET team at the exhibition area, where ongoing research projects and innovative solutions for the future of metallurgy were presented and discussed.
