K1-MET at the Kick-off Meeting of the new EASYHAc project

  • Linz, Austria
  • 17 April 2026

K1-MET hosted the Kick-off meeting of our new project EASYHAc in Linz on 17 April 2026. The project will be coordinated by Nina Plankensteiner from K1-MET and includes scientific and company partners: Austrian Institute of Technology, TU Wien, Protovation and RHP Technology.

The 3-year project is funded by the FFG Energieforschungsprogramm 2025 (FO999931145) and deals with the CO electrolysis to acetic acid from (green) syngas and the separation of H2 as valuable by-product.

Key objectives of the project involve:

  • Development of bimetallic nanoparticle catalysts (RHP)
  • Fabrication porous Ni-based electrodes by sputtering (AIT)
  • Electrode integration in a membrane-electrode-assembly to demonstrate CO electrolysis in a short-stack (K1-MET)
  • Design and operate infrastructure for carbon monoxide at K1-MET, realized together with Protovation
