K1-MET contributed to the Special Session on Industrial Symbiosis at EuroSlag 2026 with a presentation highlighting research on sustainable slag valorization within the RFCS Symbio-Steel project.

Lina Kieush presented the work “KPI-Based Assessment of Industrial Symbiosis Solutions within the RFCS Symbio-Steel Project: Slag Recycling Evaluation”. The presentation showcased successful slag recycling case studies and demonstrated how KPI-based assessment methods can support the evaluation of industrial symbiosis solutions. It also addressed remaining challenges related to harmonized assessment approaches, regulatory frameworks, and market uptake.
