Dr. Lina Kieush from K1-MET GmbH delivered a presentation titled “Selection of carbon bio-sources based on inherent properties and reactivity for electric smelting furnace application” at the 10^th European Oxygen Steelmaking Conference (EOSC) and 7^th Conference on Clean Technologies in the Steel Industry (CTSI), held in Vienna, Austria, from 20 – 22 May 2025.

The study evaluated biochars in comparison to conventional carbon sources, focusing on differences in chemical composition, microstructure, and thermochemical behavior, with a primary emphasis on reactivity.
