K1-MET participated in the 5^th International Conference on Energy and Material Efficiency and CO₂ Reduction in the Steel Industry (EMECR 2026).

Christa Muehlegger presented K1-MET research under the title “Comparison of carbon capture technologies for steel and cement off-gases”.

The presentation addressed the question of how CO₂ can be effectively captured from hard-to-abate industries such as steel and cement production. The comparison of amine scrubbing and membrane separation highlighted key technological trade-offs and their potential role in integrated CCU systems within the ZEUS project.
