The Digital-4-Environment ESTEP Workshop aimed to demonstrate the connection between digitalization and sustainability by analyzing successful practices in the steel sector, exploring the broader needs of the industry, and discussing technological challenges and opportunities.

Christine Gruber, Area Management Simulation & Data Analyses of K1-MET, led the workshop Session 7: “Digital solutions and workforce empowerment”.

Klemens Winkler, Postdoc in K1-MET Area 3, held a presentation on “KIRAMET – AI based Recycling of Metal Composite Wastes”.

Monika Haeuselmann, Senior Project Manager in K1-MET Area 1, was co-author of the presentation by Joanneum Research Forschungsgesellschaft mbH presentation entitled “InSpecScrap – Intelligent Multispectral Characterisation for Material Analysis in Scrap Yards”.

Johannes Wachlmayr, Postdoc in K1-MET Area 3, was represented with a poster presentation entitled “Temperature Irregularities in the Blast Furnace Bottom and Hearth Revealing the Nature of the Dead Man”.

Moreover, Christine Gruber and Magdalena Schatzl, Team Lead, were part of the scientific committee.
