K1-MET at the “automotive.2024”

K1-MET presented the FuLIBatteR project at the automotive.2024 – Austrian Roads to Excellence at voestalpine Stahlwelt in Linz on 6 June 2024.

In this project, new technologies for the sustainable recycling of lithium-ion batteries to recover critical raw materials and valuable metals coming from different LIB types (automotive, stationary, and portables) are investigated.

This way, the dependence on the global primary raw materials market can be reduced and the carbon footprint can be minimized.

Sabine Spiess and Johannes Rieger provided interesting facts about the different methods of recovering valuable raw materials from the active material of LIBs.
