This conference entitled “Die Zukunft der EnergieMAERKTE in Europa vor dem Hintergrund neuer geopolitischer Ungleichgewichte” is organized by EEG (Energy Economics Group).

Area Manager Irmela Kofler from K1-MET GmbH hold a presentation entitled “Erneuerbare Energie trifft auf klimaneutrale Stahlproduktion” at the Plenary Session 4: Decarbonization – Industry & Transport on 17 February 2023.

“I have a dream” … Irmela Kofler from K1-MET GmbH started her presentation with this statement. Enjoying quality of life in a highly technological world as we know it today – comfortable traveling by plane, car or train, skiing, modern living with technological equipment – even in the future … All of this is not possible without steel and CO₂ emissions yet. The goal of K1-MET and Irmela Kofler's research group is to produce this material sustainably by 2050. This objective is achieved by directly avoiding CO₂ emissions but also by converting CO₂ into valuable materials.
