K1-MET achieved 3rd place in the INTECO ASMET Award 2026

Congratulations to K1-MET researcher Thomas Nanz on receiving 3rd place in the INTECO ASMET Award 2026 for his doctoral thesis.

The award was presented during the ASMET Forum in Leoben.

His doctoral thesis, completed at the TU Wien under the supervision of Michael Harasek, focused on the design, construction and commissioning of a novel experimental reactor for determining the reactivity of pulverized coal and biomass under blast furnace injection conditions. The reactor enables the simulation of the extreme conditions experienced by particles in the raceway, including high temperatures, rapid heating rates and short residence times.
