The 7th K1-MET Research Conference will be held on 8 April 2026, in a hybrid format (in person / MS Teams webinar) in Linz, Austria, from 10.00 – 16.30.
In contrast to previous installations of the K1-MET Simulation Conference, we will open up the scope of the conference to present current and relevant research done by K1-MET and partners beyond the focus on simulation and modelling.
This year the overarching topic of the conference will be “Scrap”: an important rare secondary resource on the transition path to green steel, which is increasingly in demand. The conference will cover topics from different projects on scrap, ranging from the characterization, preparation and processing of scrap to the implementation into industrial settings and the impact on modern steelmaking.
There will be 9 speakers from academic and industrial partners, covering topics from national and international research projects COMET P1.1, DiGreeS, InSpecScrap, KIRAMET, PURESCRAP, and ReSourCE.
Registration is now open. It is recommended to use Google Chrome or MS Edge for the registration link.
With your registration you can indicate whether you plan to participate in person or online, and you will receive confirmation of your registration including the link to the Teams webinar for the online participation. The conference attendance is free of charge.
We are looking forward to your participation and a day with many interesting contributions!
