On 11 April 2023, the 4th K1-MET Simulation Conference was held at the Graz University of Technology. A cross-section of the simulation and modelling activities in a wide variety of K1-MET projects was presented to around 50 participants from industry and academia.
The day was opened with a short welcome and introduction by Christine Gruber (Area Manager of Area 4 “Simulation and Analyses”). A keynote by Michael Harasek on the topic “About the Relevance of Experimental Fluid Dynamics (EFD) in Simulations” and sessions on the topics “Particulate and reactive flows” and “Multiphase flows” followed.
The afternoon began with a keynote talk by Christoph Spijker on “NOx postprocessing for the steady laminar flamelet model”, continued by sessions on the topics of “Sim4Green” and “Metallurgical Modelling”.
The day was filled with consistently interesting presentations and discussions, and we are already looking forward to another edition next year.
